Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially husband and wife. The global football superstar and his longtime partner have married after nearly a decade together, marking a major new chapter in their relationship.

The couple tied the knot on August 11, 2026, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal. The intimate wedding was attended by their five children, with the couple choosing a deeply personal celebration away from the spotlight.

Ronaldo and Georgina Confirm Their Marriage

The long-awaited news became public after Ronaldo and Rodríguez shared a photograph of their wedding rings on social media, confirming that they had officially taken the next step in their relationship.

The announcement came exactly one year after Rodríguez publicly revealed their engagement in August 2025. After years of public interest in whether the couple would eventually marry, the engagement was followed by growing anticipation surrounding their wedding.

According to The Times, the couple’s wedding took place exactly one year after their engagement announcement.

A Relationship That Began Nearly a Decade Ago

Ronaldo and Rodríguez began their relationship in 2016 after meeting in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store.

The relationship soon developed into one of the world’s most closely followed celebrity partnerships. Over the years, the pair have built a family together while navigating Ronaldo’s demanding football career and Rodríguez’s growing career as a model, entrepreneur and global social-media personality.

Their personal life has also been documented through Rodríguez’s Netflix reality series, I Am Georgina, which offers viewers an insight into her family, career and lifestyle.

A Private Wedding in Portugal

Unlike many celebrity weddings that attract extensive media coverage, Ronaldo and Rodríguez kept their ceremony remarkably private.

The wedding took place at the couple’s home in Cascais, Portugal, creating an intimate setting for the milestone. Rather than staging a huge celebrity ceremony, the couple chose to celebrate the moment privately with their family.

Their five children were present for the occasion, making family a central part of the celebration. Following the civil ceremony, the couple also visited the Sanctuary of Fátima for a private religious blessing.

Georgina Rodríguez’s Reported $55 Million Wedding Jewellery Collection

While the wedding itself was intentionally understated, Georgina Rodríguez’s jewellery attracted significant attention.

Rodríguez reportedly wore more than 250 carats of Chopard diamonds during the wedding celebrations, with the overall collection estimated to be worth up to $55 million. The jewellery included pieces associated with Chopard’s renowned Garden of Kalahari collection.

According to People, the collection included a spectacular necklace featuring a 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond, alongside earrings, rings and a bracelet. Chopard’s own records state that its Garden of Kalahari collection was created from a remarkable 342-carat rough diamond from Botswana, which produced 23 individual diamonds.

Garden of Kalahari Necklace — Reportedly $35 Million

The standout piece was the Garden of Kalahari necklace, featuring a spectacular 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond. The necklace forms part of Chopard’s extraordinary Garden of Kalahari high-jewellery collection, created from diamonds cut from the exceptional Queen of Kalahari rough stone.

The necklace has been reported in coverage at an estimated value of approximately $35 million. As with the other jewellery valuations, the figure should be understood as a reported estimate rather than a confirmed purchase price.

The 342-carat Queen of Kalahari rough diamond was discovered in Botswana and ultimately yielded 23 diamonds. Chopard says five of the resulting stones weigh more than 20 carats, with several major cuts represented within the Garden of Kalahari collection.

50-Carat Engagement Ring — Reportedly Up to $5 Million

Rodríguez also wore the spectacular engagement ring she received from Ronaldo after their engagement was announced in August 2025.

The ring has attracted considerable attention because of its extraordinary size. Recent jewellery estimates have placed the ring at around 37 carats, with some estimates valuing it at up to $5 million. The exact specifications and final market value have not been officially confirmed.

The engagement ring therefore remains one of the most valuable individual pieces associated with Rodríguez’s wedding jewellery, although its reported valuation should not be treated as an officially confirmed price.

Garden of Kalahari Bracelet — Reportedly $7 Million

Rodríguez’s jewellery ensemble was completed by an elaborate Garden of Kalahari bracelet, featuring an intricate arrangement of large diamonds and detailed high-jewellery craftsmanship.

The bracelet has been reported at an estimated value of approximately $7 million. Its design complements the other Garden of Kalahari pieces worn by Rodríguez, creating a coordinated diamond ensemble for the wedding celebration.

Like the other individual valuations, the $7 million figure represents a reported estimate and should not be interpreted as a confirmed purchase price.

Garden of Kalahari Earrings — Reportedly $5 Million

Adding another dramatic element to the ensemble were Rodríguez’s Garden of Kalahari earrings, which featured large pear-shaped diamonds alongside additional heart-shaped and brilliant-cut stones.

The earrings have been reported at an estimated value of approximately $5 million, making them another exceptionally valuable component of the jewellery collection.

The combination of the earrings with the necklace, bracelet and rings gave Rodríguez a coordinated high-jewellery look built around some of the most remarkable diamonds associated with Chopard’s Garden of Kalahari collection.

How Much Was Georgina Rodríguez’s Wedding Jewellery Worth?

Reports have placed the overall value of Rodríguez’s wedding jewellery at up to $55 million, with more than 250 carats of Chopard diamonds involved.

The individual reported estimates featured in the jewellery breakdown include approximately $35 million for the Garden of Kalahari necklace, up to $5 million for the engagement ring, $7 million for the Garden of Kalahari bracelet and $5 million for the Garden of Kalahari earrings.

These individual estimates total approximately $52 million, which is lower than the broader reported valuation of up to $55 million. This difference highlights why the figures should be treated as reported estimates rather than a definitive audited valuation of every piece worn during the wedding celebrations.

What is clear, however, is the extraordinary scale of the jewellery collection. From the 50-carat diamond at the centre of the Garden of Kalahari necklace to the matching earrings, bracelet and rings, Rodríguez’s wedding jewellery became one of the most talked-about luxury elements of the celebration.

The Story Behind Chopard’s Garden of Kalahari

The Garden of Kalahari collection has an extraordinary origin story. Chopard says the collection was created from the 342-carat Queen of Kalahari rough diamond, discovered at the Karowe mine in Botswana.

The exceptional rough stone was transformed into 23 individual diamonds, including five stones weighing more than 20 carats. The resulting stones feature several major diamond cuts, including brilliant, heart, pear, cushion and emerald cuts.

Among them is the remarkable 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond used as the centrepiece of the Garden of Kalahari necklace. Chopard describes the collection as comprising six extraordinary high-jewellery pieces.

Family Remains at the Centre of Their Relationship

Ronaldo and Rodríguez have built a family together throughout their relationship. They share daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda, while Rodríguez has also been closely involved in raising Ronaldo’s other children.

The couple also experienced a deeply difficult moment in 2022 following the death of their newborn son, Ángel, during childbirth. Their family has continued to remain an important part of both Ronaldo and Rodríguez’s public lives.

From Engagement to Marriage

Rodríguez announced the couple’s engagement on August 11, 2025, sharing a photograph of her engagement ring and confirming that she and Ronaldo were ready to take their relationship into a new chapter.

One year later, that chapter officially became a marriage.

For Ronaldo, the wedding comes during another significant period of his career. The Portuguese football icon continues to represent Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, while remaining one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.

Rodríguez has meanwhile established her own international profile through modelling, fashion, entrepreneurship, television and social media.
