Davido is bringing Oriadé home. The Afrobeats superstar has announced a three-night residency at Lagos’ National Theatre this December, turning his latest album into a live homecoming built around new music, career-spanning hits and the city where much of his story began.

The residency, titled “Oriadé: The Residency,” will take place on December 17, 18 and 19, 2026. Davido made the announcement on September 18, saying he was bringing the project “home” as he marks 15 years of his professional music career. The announcement was first reported by Variety, while Davido’s official residency site confirms the three December dates at the National Theatre.

Davido Is Taking Oriadé Back to Lagos

Released in July, Oriadé is Davido’s sixth studio album and contains 13 tracks. The project features collaborations with artists including Black Sherif, Mayorkun, FOLA, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.

The album was released through Columbia Records UK, with Sony Music Canada describing it as a deeply personal project that explores different sides of Davido’s musical identity. Its tracklist moves between established Afrobeats energy and more reflective material, giving the Lagos residency a catalogue large enough to extend beyond a conventional album launch.

For the December shows, Davido is expected to perform songs from Oriadé alongside records from across his career, with special guests also expected to feature during the residency. The official residency page lists the National Theatre as the venue for all three nights.

Three Nights at the National Theatre

The choice of venue gives the announcement another layer. Rather than staging a single large concert at a conventional arena or outdoor festival location, Davido is set to occupy the National Theatre for three consecutive nights.

The Cable reported that the residency will be held at the remodelled National Theatre and described it as the first residency by an Afrobeats artist at the venue. Davido’s official residency site likewise presents the event as a landmark moment for the genre and the venue.

That makes the project more than an album performance. It places a major contemporary Afrobeats artist inside one of Nigeria’s most recognizable cultural venues for a concentrated run of performances.

Why This Residency Matters to Davido’s Oriadé Era

Davido has spent much of his career moving between Lagos and major international stages. In 2026 alone, his global schedule has included his Coachella debut and other international appearances, while Oriadé has continued that international-facing trajectory.

The Lagos residency changes the direction of that story. Instead of taking the album primarily to international audiences, the December run brings the album back to the Nigerian audience in a setting designed around repeated performances.

It also arrives during one of Lagos’ busiest annual entertainment periods. December has become a major period for concerts, nightlife, tourism and cultural events across the city, meaning the residency will enter an already crowded entertainment calendar rather than operating in isolation.

The Timing Connects With Davido’s 15-Year Career

The residency is also tied to a significant point in Davido’s career timeline. Oriadé was released exactly 15 years after his professional breakthrough, giving the album rollout an anniversary theme that now extends into the live shows.

That anniversary helps explain why the December concerts are being positioned around more than the latest album. The residency is expected to combine new material with songs from across Davido’s catalogue, effectively turning three nights into a condensed celebration of his career.

His catalogue includes projects such as Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive, before the arrival of Oriadé in 2026.

What Fans Can Expect From the Three Shows

The official announcement indicates that the performances will feature Oriadé material alongside songs spanning Davido’s career. Special guests are also expected, although the full guest lineup has not been announced.

The album itself provides plenty of possibilities for the live set. Tracks such as On the Road, Amazing Grace, I Know Who I Be, Tell Everybody, Yaya and My Light give the residency a defined musical centre, while Davido’s earlier catalogue supplies the career-spanning component.

The official Oriadé album page lists all 13 tracks and their featured artists.

Tickets Go on Sale September 25

According to the announcement, tickets are scheduled to go on sale on September 25, 2026. Members of Davido’s 30BG community are being offered early access through the residency registration process.

The official residency website currently lists December 17, 18 and 19 individually and identifies the National Theatre in Lagos as the location for each performance.

With the event still months away, further details about ticket categories, pricing, supporting performers and the production itself are expected to emerge as the December dates approach.

A Lagos Homecoming With Global Context

There is an interesting contrast at the centre of the announcement: Davido’s career has become increasingly global, but the next major chapter of the Oriadé rollout is being built around Lagos.

That matters because Afrobeats is no longer being presented solely through international tours or individual festival appearances. Major Nigerian artists are increasingly building live experiences around their albums and using home-market events as major moments within global album campaigns.

Davido’s three-night residency puts that approach on a particularly visible stage. The National Theatre setting, the December timing and the connection to his 15-year career give the shows a broader identity than a standard one-night album concert.

For Lagos, meanwhile, the event adds another major international-facing music attraction to the city’s December entertainment calendar.

What Comes Next

The immediate next milestone is September 25, when tickets are scheduled to become available. Attention will then shift toward the eventual guest lineup, production details and how Davido structures the three nights around Oriadé and his wider catalogue.

For now, the announcement is clear: Davido is taking Oriadé back to Lagos for three consecutive nights, placing the latest chapter of his international career inside a distinctly Nigerian setting.

The Bottom Line

Davido’s “Oriadé: The Residency” will run from December 17–19, 2026, at the National Theatre in Lagos. The three-night event will combine songs from his latest album with music from across his 15-year career, while tickets are scheduled to go on sale September 25.

The story is ultimately bigger than three concert dates. It connects Davido’s latest album, his career anniversary, Lagos’ December entertainment season and the continuing evolution of Afrobeats as a global music industry.
